Public Statement regarding Kerry Nelson
Further to recent press coverage of an ex-IFA Kerry Nelson, who pleaded guilty to £2m fraud at Portsmouth Crown Court yesterday (12 October), Nexus IFA Ltd wish to formally clarify that we have never had any connection, affiliation, or business relationship whatsoever with Kerry Nelson or her firm called Nexus Independent Financial Advisers Limited.
We are based in Bridgwater, Somerset, whereas Kerry Nelson’s firm was based in Portsmouth. We registered our firm, Nexus IFA Ltd, with the FCA in May 2011, while it was some 18 months later before Kerry Nelson registered Nexus Independent Financial Advisers Limited in November 2012 with the FCA.
The FCA allowed Kerry Nelson to also register the trading name Nexus IFA in 2018 (along with some 20 other trading names), causing some people to confuse her firm with ours. Kerry Nelson’s firm went into Administration in 2023 and is no longer authorised by the FCA.
